Madeline Okenica

About

Madeline is passionate about creating a safe, healing space for children, adolescents, and families. She believes that feeling seen, understood, and supported is an important part of the therapeutic process for everyone involved. Madeline strives to help children express themselves, explore their emotions, and develop healthy coping through play, strengthening their connection with themselves and others. She values working closely with caregivers to create meaningful change and support families in feeling more connected, resilient, and empowered to grow together.

Madeline earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology with minors in Child Development and Sociology from Florida State University in 2023. She then completed her Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy and a Certificate in Medical Family Therapy at East Carolina University.

Throughout her clinical and professional experiences, Madeline has worked with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families navigating a variety of challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, family conflict, relationship distress, communication challenges, low self-esteem, behavioral concerns, emotional dysregulation, and life transitions. She has supported children and families across home, school, and community settings, valuing collaboration as a way to better understand and meet each client’s unique needs. Across her experiences, Madeline approaches therapy with warmth and open-mindedness, creating an environment where children and adults feel comfortable being themselves, exploring their feelings, and working toward growth and healing.
