About

Kelly McCandless is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Registered Play Therapist with a heartfelt commitment to supporting children, adolescents, and families. She completed her bachelor’s degree at Jacksonville University and went on to earn her Master’s in Social Work from Metropolitan State University of Denver in 2020. In 2022, she further honed her skills with specialized play therapy training at Stetson University. Kelly brings a rich background in pediatric integrated care, early intervention services, and maternal, infant, and child mental health. After returning to Jacksonville, she worked extensively with children and families in the foster care system, providing them with vital support and guidance.

Kelly’s approach centers on the belief that play therapy is the most effective, developmentally sensitive way to nurture meaningful growth in young clients. For her, the playroom is a safe, accepting space where children and adolescents are free to be themselves, explore their emotions, and take their first steps toward change. She values the journey of getting to know each family, celebrating their successes, and navigating challenges together. Kelly understands the pressures parents face and admires the strength it takes to seek support. She is committed to trauma-informed, culturally-responsive care that respects the unique needs of each family.

With experience supporting children ages 2 to 18 through trauma, emotional regulation, anxiety, life transitions, and grief, Kelly is skilled at guiding children toward resilience and healing.
