About

Jessica Soto is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Registered Play Therapist who specializes in helping children and families heal from trauma. She earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Liberty University, followed by a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a Graduate Certificate in Play Therapy from Stetson University.

As a certified TraumaPlay® Therapist through the TraumaPlay Institute, Jessica creates a compassionate and structured environment for trauma recovery. She has extensive experience supporting children who have experienced chronic maltreatment, traumatic incidents, attachment disturbances, and other interpersonal traumas. Jessica believes every child and family has the capacity to heal through play, connection, and supportive relationships.

Jessica plays an active role in the Play Therapy community. She has experience teaching in Jacksonville University’s Play Therapy certificate program. She also provides training on trauma-informed care and discipline strategies to community mental health agencies. Additionally, she serves as a board member for embrACE jax, a nonprofit dedicated to bringing play therapy to underserved populations.

Her clinical experience includes providing play therapy for children in the child welfare system and within Duval County Public Schools, where she has supported children through trauma, loss, and behavioral challenges. She is also a certified Circle of Security Parenting™ Facilitator and is passionate about helping parents strengthen their relationships with their children through empathy, understanding, and consistency.

While Jessica primarily works with children ages 3 and older, she also enjoys supporting families with children under the age of 3 through parent-involved sessions that foster early attachment bonds and emotional security.
